Discount for car owners of little help

I WAS told by Proton i-care that my 10 year-old Proton Perdana will be “rewarded” with a RM5,000 discount voucher should I surrender it to purchase any new Proton car. But The Star’s Classifieds indicate that the value for a decade-old Perdana hovers somewhere around RM20,000.

Even more shocking was that the meagre RM5,000 discount voucher, or should it be more aptly called “resale” value of my Perdana, is also the same offered to a lower-end 10 year-old Saga, or even Waja!

What stimulus package? It is obviously just an attempt to revive the local auto industry at the expense of wage-earners like me.

SPEECHLESS,
Kuala Lumpur.
